Shane Rickman: We are spiritual, all of us, every thing you can see with the eye is spiritual. Behind the mirror of this question lies another. “What are you doing/being in your life that reveals your own spiritual nature and allows you to experience your spirituality?”. This has become my art, the expression of my spirit. My art is the way I AM. It matters not weather you believe or not in God. The responsibility lies within your heart, mind, body, and spirit to believe in your own self. I’ve seen men and women walk out of church and instantly begin to critique and judge the world they see. In the minds of those “goers of church” lies the thought that “I believe in God”.

I paint to learn about my inner self, the spiritual. Let me explain what I mean by “spiritual”. Recognizing that you are spiritual really means acknowledging that you are subtle. Yes, subtle. It is the “subtle” things that ultimately effect your body and your spirit. And it is your spirit that through the “subtle” things creates the world it sees.

Being an intelligent and wise spiritual being means that you pay attention to ideas like “self talk”, “judgments”, “intention”, “compassionate listening”, “inner dialogue”, “commitments” … and much more. These are the “subtle” things I am referring to.
